CLARIAH-DE services may be used without providing personal data. Thus, you can browse the CLARIAH-DE website anonymously. We do not collect or save any personal data in the course of your session. Our log files are entirely anonymous.
Personal data as defined in the Basic Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) are: “any information concerning an identified or identifiable natural person”. An identifiable natural person is one who can be identified directly or indirectly by means of an identifier (such as a name), an identification number, location data or an online identifier.
Statistical data for the operation of the website
This website uses the open source software Matomo for statistical analysis of visitor accesses. Matomo is configured in accordance with data protection regulations, and data is stored anonymously. The "session cookies" used for this purpose are text files that are stored on your computer and allow an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is stored on the GWDG server. The IP address is anonymized immediately after processing and before it is stored. The data collected by Matomo is used in anonymized form to improve our offer. IP addresses are stored in Matomo without the last tuple. Thus, it becomes apparent from which network a request came, but not from which computer. These "session cookies" do not contain any personal data and expire after the session. Techniques such as Java applets or Active-X controls, which make it possible to trace the access behavior of users, are not used.
In detail, the following data is stored about each access:
- the first two parts of the IP address
- date and time
- user agent of the software used
- accessed page/name of the accessed file
- amount of data transferred
- message whether the access/retrieval was successful.
